Dungeon description
History
The mighty fortress carved within the fiery bowels of Blackrock Mountain was designed by the master dwarf-mason, Franclorn Forgewright. Intended to be the symbol of Dark Iron power, the fortress was held by the sinister dwarves for centuries.
However, Nefarian - the cunning son of the dragon, Deathwing - had other plans for the great keep. He and his draconic minions took control of the upper Spire and made war on the dwarves' holdings in the mountain's volcanic depths. Realizing that the dwarves were led by the mighty fire elemental, Ragnaros - Nefarian vowed to crush his enemies and claim the whole of Blackrock mountain for himself.

Prerequisites
Upper Blackrock Spire instance has no prerequisites.
Note: Before the release of the Patch 3.0.8 expansion, the raid required completion of the quest N [57] Seal of Ascension, to acquire the Seal of Ascension. However, this is no longer needed, as the door that leads to Upper Blackrock Spire is now permanently open.

Entrance
To enter the Upper Spire, use the same entrance as the Lower Spire and follow the left wall as you enter. You will ascend a small flight of stairs and into a hall with smaller side chambers. Each chamber is filled with mobs and a small glowing rune. Defeating the mobs in a chamber will deactivate a rune and once each has faded, a double door at the back of the hall will open.
Note: The key requisite to open the instance entrance was removed after Patch 3.0.8.

The advised level for Upper Blackrock Spire instance was 55 - 65.

The player limit for Upper Blackrock Spire instance is 5 (10).
